Spring Crappies

Delaware Ohio ,Alum Creek Lake 1990

April early spring
Party cloudy & cold high 40's to mid  50's

Fishing the north east shore in a cove, off the main lake,
the bottom was gravel and mud with many trees , weeds and old cat-tails
surrounding the outer edges.

Using live minnows , night crawlers and wax worms.

With my shimano cx1000sq ultra light reel  and  Abu Garcia 400 ultra light rod
along with 6 pound line. I would cast my bait  by the edge of the cover with a pencil bobber,
a small # 6 true turn hook it would not take long before I have a bite the bobber would stand up
I knew there was a taker ,I never use any weight when fish for panfish
just a hook, bait and bobber this is work real well.

On this day the fishing was great I caught many crappies and bluegills.
spent the whole day fishing and relaxing what a fishing trip.
I have spent many weekend fishing this lake.

With the ultra light equipment pan fishing is a lot of fun.
