This beautiful 9 pound 6oz walleye was caught in Freemont, Ohio It was a very nice day for fishing in late spring with temperature in the mid 70's with sunshine by noon that eventful day I was fishing a part of the river were the water was fast there was some breaks just about 3 yards down were I was casting my 1/3 oz silver and red tail jig and minnow. As I cast my rig up stream and let it drift down toward the breaks the walleye hit the jig and minnow, then the fight was on for almost a hour I battle the this heavy weight what a fight she gave up, it will always be one of my best fights. Using my shimano cx1000sq ultra light reel on a abu garcia 400 ultra light rod as well as 6 pound line with a 20 pound leader it was great fun. This is the biggest walleye I have caught to date. What a fish what a fish ! |
