This beautiful 4 pound 3 oz Smallmouth bass was caught
at the Hoover Reservoir in Westerviller, Ohio

In June the weather was sunny about 65 degrees
around noon.

I was fishing a drop off by a large weed bed.
The bait I was using a 1/4 oz yellow head jig with light blue tail & minnow

That morning I had fished the same sport earlier, but had not luck.
I return to fish the spot again about 3 hour later and had some small
bass and crappies take the bait but no keepers.

I would cast my bait along the weed bed and let it fall off the drop
then there was a strike the bass went straight for the weed bed as
I try to turn it back to deeper water.

The bass fought hard for it's size,
I was using my shimano cx1000sq ultra ligh reel with a abu garcia 400 ultra light rod
and 6 pound line there is so much fun using ultra light tackle to fish, you realy get a good fight
out of any fish you caught, so much fun so much fun.

My biggest smallmonth bass to date.
